Why are you baking textures, if you don't have any high-poly mesh?

Hi Mike,
First of all, thank you for your time and effort, to create such nice and useful tutorials.
Second, please, pump up your volume gain on your videos – it's too low.
Besd Regards,

I would like to know, why you use Substance Painter to render, without using Maya itself to render? Can we use Maya to complete the same job without using Sub Painter? Thank you.

Thanks for the vid as always! Not trying to be a butt-head, just trying to help the helper with the following;
3:39 You should have selected the outer 8 UV points & unfolded before you did the Layout command!… The way your UV is set up, the 4 side faces are extremely stretched and using a texture will have about 10-12 times the detail (pixel count) in one dimension vs the other.
8:56 Instead of using a brush in these instances it is significantly faster to press CTRL+U with an area masked/selected & crank the lightness to max/min (depending on if you want black/white).
I really gotta learn substance painter some time lol… doing it all manually takes forever 😛
